Dr. Felman is dedicated to taking care of patients with cancer and blood diseases. He has been in private practice for more than twenty five years. Dr. Felman has a long association with the University of Southern California-Keck School of Medicine as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine. He is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Felman attended the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. Afterwards, he completed his residency and clinical fellowships at USC. Dr. Felman is board certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Internal Medicine.
Through the intensely personal experience of his father's death from cancer, he learned compassion and patience, and that each patient's situation is unique. "Cancer intrudes into the lives of far too many patients and families. However, each patient and family is different and their individual needs must be trusted implicitly."
In the interest of increasing options for personalized cancer care. Dr. Felman was recently granted the Hospice Medical Director Certified Credential this past year and serves as Medical Director to Monarch Hospice in Montebello. He is also an integral consultant to several other area hospices.
Dr. Felman has a long history of supporting community outreach programs. He is a frequent speaker at service clubs and survivor events. He serves on the boards of several nonprofit foundations. As a member of the Beverly Hospital Foundation, he initiated a successful fund raising effort for a digital mammography unit. He is also an active member of the board of directors of the Medical Oncology Association of Southem California (MOASC). He recently completed his term as Founding President of MOASC Purchasing Network, Inc and continues as a member of that board. He recently sen/ed as a Presidential Appointee to the ASCO Clinical Practice Committee.
Dr. Felman enjoys time with his family and working in his garden. He is also an avid soccer fan and occasionally takes time to play the cello
